Loose grit is removed before anything touches the paint, then a foam is left to dwell to lift the remaining film. Skipping this is the single most common cause of wash induced swirls, because it means dragging grit across the panel.

Safe Two Bucket Contact Wash

One bucket of shampoo, one of clean rinse water, both with grit guards, working top to bottom so the dirtiest lower panels are done last.

Chemical Decontamination

Iron remover dissolves embedded brake and rail dust. Tar solvent breaks down bonded road tar along sills and lower doors. Neither of these comes off with normal washing, no matter how often you do it.

Clay Treatment

A clay bar or mitt shears off whatever the chemicals could not dissolve. This is what makes paint feel genuinely smooth, and it is the stage that most surprises people the first time they have it done.

Wheels, Tyres, Arches And Jambs

Wheels cleaned properly rather than sprayed and rinsed, arches cleared, tyres dressed, and door jambs done. Jambs are the detail that separates a real detail from a good wash, because they are the first thing you see when you open the door.

Machine Polish Or Sealant

On the Full Detail Special, a paint sealant goes on for months of easier washing. Where paint needs correction, that is quoted separately after inspection rather than assumed.

Interior, Stage By Stage

Strip And Vacuum

Mats and removable items come out first. Then a full vacuum including the boot, seat rails and under the seats, which is where most of the grit actually lives.

Fabric And Carpet Treatment

Spot treatment on seats and carpets, with hot water extraction where the condition calls for it. Extraction pulls contamination out rather than pushing it deeper into the pile.

Leather

Cleaned in the grain rather than wiped over, then conditioned so it stays supple. Leather that is only ever wiped gets dirt ground into the grain and eventually cracks.

Plastics, Vents And Switches

Every surface cleaned with the product suited to the material, then restored to a factory satin finish. Not a greasy shine that attracts dust and glares in the windscreen.

Glass

Inside and out, finished streak free, including the top edge of the windscreen where haze builds up unnoticed.

The Final Inspection

A walk around under lights before hand back. This is where missed spots get caught, and it is the stage that a rushed job skips entirely.

What Is Not Included, And Why

Paint correction, ceramic coating and heavy interior restoration such as serious odour treatment or extensive pet hair removal are quoted separately. They vary far too much by vehicle to sit inside a fixed price honestly.

How Long It Takes
